The structure
The structure is entirely of steel and aeronautical light alloys with a design that pursues the maximum of refiability and security, and the fairing, studied with well developed aerodynamic pograms, has been realized with composite material (in sandwich).
The new main landing gear, made of composite material (glass and carbon fibre with epoxy resin) combines a nice line, a remarkable weight reduction, a sturdiness and elasticity increase.
This improvement allows to operate even from disconnected surfaces. The wing, with aluminium structure, composite material and trilam (light and lasting material) cover, is provided with a laminate profile (derived from NACA 6th series) and maintains its exact shape along the whole wideness thanks to a connecting edge in composite material (between the cloth and the structure) that covers the fore longeron. The particular shape of the composite material wing tips, and the tailplanes realized with a solid overhanging structure provided with a NACA profile of 4th series, improve the precision substantially and also the flight response speed; if we add the quality of the flight-controls with rigid rods, the ball joints and ball-bearing transmission (this secures precise movements without clearance or friction) we have the "best".
The motorization is provide by the 80 HP or 100 HP Rotax 912 with a motorcowling of composite material, which improves the aerodynamics and aesthetics, while noise, already particu arly low in this type of aircraft, has been sensibly diminished. The engine position itself, placed on top compared with the wing surface, assures a high security to the pilots and higher flexibility in take-off and landing operations on semi-prepared runways.
The windscreen and the windows are now made of thermomaterial, (perspex), so that a bigger internal space has been obtained, as well as a perfect side view with a 270° radius.
Thus the comfort for the two passengers is considerable. It has been also improved thanks to the addition of a comfortable baggage compartment and to a heating circuit of the cockpit with regulable temperture, which make the Jet Fox 97 fit for travels. The aircraft can be towed thanks to the folding wings and to the dismountable tailplanes.
The aircraft is furnished in current production with complete instrumentation and it is prearranged for the housing of a parachute.
